Position Available Immediately: Full Time Spanish Teacher – PreK to 8th Grades

Founded in 1963 by the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, Grey Nun Academy is the Catholic, independent co-educational elementary school in Bucks County, PA for children in grades PreK3 through Eighth grade. The Academy offers an academically rich curriculum that meets the unique needs of individual students, respecting the rights, interests, and dignity of each child. Grey Nun Academy welcomes children of all faiths and cultures. The school's educational process leads children to embrace and promote peace and social justice in our world.

Seeking a full time, growth-minded Elementary and Middle school teacher. Responsibilities include teaching PreK – 8th grades, advising a small group of students, and serving as a member of a division-level faculty team. Candidates should have interest in teaching highly motivated students in a school that values not only intellectual pursuits but also building strong relationships and community. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who is comfortable using a variety of pedagogical strategies and enjoys working creatively and collaboratively to develop and plan curricula to ensure alignment of the school’s mission and philosophy in curriculum and practices. Successful candidates must have a proven record of engaging students in class discussions, fostering critical reading and writing skills, and inspiring a love of learning.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Active teacher certification
  • Ability to develop close working relationships with all constituencies including students, parents, faculty, and administration.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, to analytically and strategically solve complex educational problems and to participate effectively across departmental, grade, divisional and school-wide teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt your message to students, parents, faculty, and administration.
  • Willingness to embrace the lifestyle of working in a dynamic independent school by being a team-player, eagerly assuming many roles, and devoting the time required to model excellence in job performance.
  • Commitment to active collaboration while also possessing the internal, self-starter motivation to learn independently

Previous relevant and Catholic school teaching and technology (Google Certification) experience preferred.

Position Available Immediately: Substitute Nurse

Grey Nun Academy seeks professional substitute nurses for our Health Office for all grade levels in our PreK3 through 8th grade school. Candidates must be motivated and enjoy working in an educational environment. The School Nurse is responsible for developing and maintaining GNA’s health policies and programs. The primary role is to provide health services to the students. The School Nurse must work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all members of the GNA community.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a license as a Registered Nurse
  • License as a School Nurse by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - preferred
  • Certification in AED, Epipen, First Aid and CPR
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in school health nursing, pediatric nursing, community/public health nursing, or other relevant clinical nursing experience
  • Ability to work as a team member with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent technology skills

    Beginning January 1, 2016, GNA will pay currently certified substitutes $95.00 per day, substitutes without certification will be $85.00 per day.
