Class of 2016 Awarded $52,500 in Academic Excellence Scholarships to Area High Schools

Grey Nun Academy Class of 2016 Awarded $52,500 in Scholarships from Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey Top High Schools

All Scholarship Grants Awarded for Academic Excellence

May 26, 2016 -- Yardley, PA -- Grey Nun Academy (GNA), a Catholic, independent, elementary school in Bucks County, PA for students PreK3 through eighth grade, announced today that its eighth grade students were awarded numerous scholarship grants to attend area independent high schools.

Total monies awarded to students for entrance to esteemed area high schools was in excess of $52,500. All grants were given to graduating students for their academic excellence and demonstrate the quality of the education provided at Grey Nun Academy.

Head of School Deborah Kost is proud of these students for their accomplishments in and outside the classroom and remarked, “Our academic program is exceptional at preparing students for high school and laying the foundation for success and achievement in college and throughout life. Grey Nun Academy represents the best in education within Bucks County and we are proud of our eighth grade students who received these grants as a reward for their diligence and academic success.”

An administrator from Villa Joseph Marie High School also shared her views on Grey Nun Academy, saying: “Villa Joseph Marie High School has enjoyed a long and rewarding relationship with Grey Nun Academy. The students who have come to Villa from Grey Nun have always exceeded our expectations, both inside and outside of the classroom. Grey Nun graduates are natural leaders, diligent students, supportive teammates, and devoted servers in the church and community. It is evident that they were educated in an environment which fosters the whole student and values learning as a lifelong endeavor.”

Mrs. Kost added, “The discipline and commitment to learning that exemplify Grey Nun Academy students is evident; our students test in the top ten percent on Terra Nova scores nationally above all area private, parochial, and public schools in the region. As the only private Catholic elementary school in Bucks County, our Academy, through our faculty and students, represents the culmination of 53 years of inspired teaching sponsored by the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart. We are proud and pleased that our eighth graders are gaining these monetary accolades that will be utilized to further their academic success in high school and college. We will continue to monitor their progress as they become leaders within their generation.”
