Grey Nun Academy Inducts Newest Members Into Prestigious Decade Club
12 Graduates Inducted Into "Decade Club" Celebrating 10 Years at Grey Nun Academy
from PreK through Eighth Grade
Annual Ceremony Honors Students Who Attended the Academy for the Whole of Their Educational Career
June 2, 2016 -- Yardley, PA -- Twelve students of the eighth grade graduating class at Grey Nun Academy were honored at a luncheon this week as newly inducted members of the school’s Decade Club. This designation is for students who have enjoyed their entire educational career at The Academy from PreK through the Eighth Grade. Several of these students are also the recipients of numerous scholarships offered to attend area high school programs as a result of their academic accomplishments.
The student members of the 2016 Decade Club are Brendon Abernethy, Joseph Anderson, Louis DeLuna, Victor Fiori, Colin Hagan, Julia McAtee, Alexandra Mundy, Christian Pagliaro, Kelly Rothenberg, Lauren Vesey, Caitlin Webster, and Morgan Webster. They all reside in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
The tradition of the Decade Club began in 1993 to celebrate those students who began their education as eager young learners just entering school and leaving the Academy as maturing students ready to continue their academic success and embark for high school and later college. Each year, a luncheon is held in their honor during the week prior to commencement ceremonies. With the inclusion of students for this school year, the Decade Club membership at the Academy now numbers 203 graduates. First year Decade Club member Kevin Wilson ’93 is the proud parent of current first grade student Braydon Wilson who is set to continue the legacy of his father at Grey Nun Academy.
Grey Nun Academy Head of School Deborah Kost is extremely proud of the academic accomplishments and collective $52,500 in scholarship offers granted to this year’s graduating class, noting: “The Decade Club celebrates not only the students that have matriculated at the Academy, but the school itself and the quality of education and well-rounded learning experience it provides. We provide an excellent foundation to create lifelong learners excited about the possibilities of expanding their knowledge with a solid grasp of their relationship and responsibility to others. We help our students to develop positive outlooks with endless possibilities to problem solve and benefit their communities and the world. We are committed to developing exceptional students through our advanced curriculum, and as importantly, students of purpose with human dignity as their touchstone.”
