Grey Nun Academy Voted Best Middle School in Bucks County on "Happening List"

Academy Also Named a Finalist in Best Elementary and Best Preschool Categories

March 27, 2019 (YARDLEY, PA) - Grey Nun Academy, an independent, Catholic, elementary school serving students in PreK through eighth grade, was just named Bucks County’s “Best Middle School” by Bucks Happening, the premier digital magazine in Bucks County, PA. The Academy also captured two finalist awards in the categories of “Best Elementary School” and “Best Preschool.”

For the fourth year in a row, the Academy has been recognized for its excellence in education in the magazine’s annual “Happening List” contest, a popular people’s choice competition in the region. Previously, the Academy was named to the Happening List’s “Best Private School” category three years in a row.

“Our Middle School faculty is an exceptional group of professionals who consistently go above and beyond for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. They are forward-thinking educators who ably deliver challenging and advanced subject matter in a way that children can learn and understand. The Middle School at GNA is truly second-to-none, right down to our devoted and supportive school counselor who assists Middle School students in navigating the complex high school application process,” said Deborah Kost, Head of School at Grey Nun Academy. “To be recognized for a fourth consecutive year is a true testament to the whole educational experience provided by our dedicated Middle School faculty and staff. They have earned this honor and deserve this recognition, and I couldn’t be more proud of them!”

Earlier in 2019, Bucks Happening conducted its annual online contest that included various categories for area schools and businesses. Thousands of individuals voted to determine their favorites in multiple categories before the winners were announced. To ensure fairness and accuracy, an extensive audit process was in place while calculating the results.

“We also celebrate our elementary and PreK teachers and staff who were recognized because they are so deserving of this honor as well. The rigor and relevance of their instruction is accompanied by a nurturing environment that truly sets GNA apart from other schools in the area,” added Kost. “Grey Nun Academy works hard every day to deliver an exceptional learning environment for students at all levels, so we are very pleased to be recognized once again for excellence in education in the preschool, elementary, and middle school categories.”

In addition to being a winner and dual-category finalist in the Bucks Happening contest, the Academy was also named in the “Best Private School” category in the Bucks County Courier Times “Best Of” contest in both 2017 and 2018.
